What a fantastic two days, we took grandma in the wheelchair and while she could only manage a gregs pie she loved Christine’s lemon drizzle cake. I opted for the fish finger butty which was delicious and my other half had the really spicey Thai pie. The kids opted for their usual delicious crepes. We also had some salty potatoes which were a real treat. It seemed to me that Tilly Mints and Albion went all out to make this such a success and they should be congratulated on a fantastic event. Thought the two choirs Notre Dame and St Nics were great and they had the crowds singing along. Lucky enough to catch Lorna Proctor dancers today… I’m happy now! Let’s hope the other traders help out at further festivals as I’m sure they must have been pleased with the extra business that this created. We’ll done organisers and thanks for giving us the low down on this event.
Barbara I couldn’t agree with you more. Lots of hard work and effort from a few. Was very successful though from the times I was there.
Went on the Saturday and it was great. We made the trip over from Kirkby and combined it with seeing the Gormley statues. Whole day was fab. Loved the food and the entertainment, especially the kids at the end singing the drunken sailor! Our kids highlight though was the donkey rides. Wish Kirkby had the same community spirit.
Thanks for recommending this event. We had a great day out. The kids loved the donkeys the fairground rides and sitting on the deck chairs with lolly ices. There was a really good choice of top notch food from the stalls and the entertainment was super. The little singing pirates were really cute. We need more of these events in the village, well done to those who organised it.
Took the grand kids to the village and treated them to scouse and pancakes for their dinners. Proper hearty food at good prices and a really good family atmosphere.
Went 10.30 Sunday. Very little happening. I think we were way too early. Seemed to be few stalls. Got more food few weeks back when we accidentally found some farmers market stalls. Won’t put us off trying again, but will go on a saturday
